The "Our Doctors" Board
A Queue TV screen with nothing in its queue used to sit empty. Instead, it now shows an Our Doctors board — a directory of the doctors at that site.
At a glance
fa-tv | Queue is empty | Nobody is currently being called.
fa-users | Our Doctors appears | The screen shows the site's doctors instead.
fa-id-card | A card per doctor | Photo, name, designation and room.
fa-refresh | Pages turn automatically | Long lists cycle on their own.
fa-bell | Queue resumes | The board steps aside when a token is called.
What the board shows
Every doctor belonging to the screen's assigning authority is shown as a card carrying:
- Their photo. Where no photo is on file, a default illustration is used, matched to the doctor's recorded gender.
- Their name.
- Their designation, falling back to their speciality and then their department.
- Their room.
Long doctor lists
Where there are more doctors than fit on one screen, the board paginates and advances through the pages automatically, so every doctor is shown in turn without anyone touching the display.
When the board appears
The board fills the screen only while the queue is empty — no token in progress and none waiting. As soon as a patient is called, the screen returns to the queue display.
tip
This turns dead screen time into wayfinding. Patients waiting in a corridor can see which doctors are in and which room to go to, without asking at the desk.
